The natural capillary action of the panels makes it easy to keep them damp using a drip or misting system. Fernwood tree fern panels are sized in 6” increments to align with the most popular vivarium sizes on the market. The panels are easily cut to fit custom shapes and applications.

Use the loose substrate alone or in a mix to create the perfect bedding for any application. NZ tree fern is unique in its ability to hold moisture without becoming water logged. It is slow to compost and its smell and texture encourage natural burrowing. It absorbs waste and diminishes odors while also providing an excellent growing media for live plants.
